Well, he explained it like this: Yes, trinnies are lost. But it turns out, if someone dies "lost", they won't necessarily end up in hell. God may have mercy. I kid you not.
The part highlighted above.... I agree. The if some preachers got paid by the amens they get people to say the UC churches would be full of fatcats. The times that grace and mercy are taught in some OP churches, and the amens come, I am afraid that their view of grace and mercy is messed up. I know many think that God's grace and mercy allowed them to get the HG and speak in tongues and ignore g&m for any other area. There are some UC's and OP's that do understand grace, but they choose to live "tight but right" anyway. Just my thoughts...
I do believe that words grace, mercy, and even 'love' ARE heard in UC churches but ALWAYS through the lens of extreme legalism. For instance, to use a technique used by salesmen when deflecting criticism, they will make a point that would normally be used to refute one of their positions and use it to instead back it up. Example: "God, through His grace ALLOWS us to be saved by continuing to follow the standards I set before you!" Now all the people who hear such a statement in his church will say "See! My pastor DID speak on grace last night!".
I think Brother Epley would answer any question. You may not agree with his answer on any certain question I may not even agree but he is no coward. I personally know him and hope he does not mind me saying this if he does he is free to ask to have this post deleted.
Brother Epley used to preach or be in the Branamite doctrine. He walked away from it, denouced it even when close kin were very involved. In my book even though we do not see eye to eye I do not see him as a coward. We do see differently namely on women preachers and maybe other things. We have never sat down and talked doctrine.
He has been honest about facial hair on men...he does not see it wrong but does not want it in his church. That takes a real man in the world he lives in to make that kind of statement.
Timmy, if he sees your question I feel he will answer. I do not know how much he reads here.
Isn't there something wrong with this position?????????????

The vote is 6-2 against, now. A lot of AFFers don't know the Bible, apparently!
BTW, I'd agree with you about Elder Epley, most of the time. But a long time back, he refused to tell me whether my Trinitarian grandma is in hell. Said he didn't know! It was up to God! Weird.
Anyone who has read my postings through the years knows that I do not believe anyone is saved in this dispensation without obeying Acts 2:38 including everyone's family. I am commissioned to preach that. That is the only saving message, however I am NOT God and He will be the final judge.
He believes that ALL Trinitarians are lost, in a devil's HELL! It's a YES or a NO. Why back pedal like a coward?
ALL Trinitarians are lost. Whether all of them wind up in the lake of fire is up to God. I have no faith any of them will be saved in the judgment but I am not the judge. I preach the only saving message and God does the judging. He don't do the preaching and I don't do the judging. Works for me.
