Re: Guns and the Bible
This would also involve other means of self defense, as sticks or knives used for self defense.

Re: Guns and the Bible
Personally, Benincasa, I dont mess with folks' stuff. I just let God deal with their particular beliefs or situations.
There are too many variables and situations in their particular lives for me to tell folks to disarm and trust God.

Re: Guns and the Bible
If a saint is saved and living in a scary 'hood, then I may suggest moving eventually, when they are financially able, but never disarming.

Re: Guns and the Bible
If a saint is a cop, I dont tell them to quit their job.
If a saint is military, I wont tell them to become a C-O.

No, they are following the Bible.
Even if you show them something in the Bible, they still have to get a solid understanding through the influence of God's Spirit?
Yes
People who pray through get the Holy Ghost are baptized in Jesus name are infants who need to be raised by Jesus, not to be handed a yard long list of prohibitions.
Indeed, that is why I dont mess with their guns, or lack of guns.

We agree, praise Jesus!
Miracles do still happen.

Re: Guns and the Bible
Brother, your lack of understanding does not equal my wrong doing. In prison a tooth brush is considered a weapon. Many pillows have been used as weapons......the point is I don't sell weapons to be used in murders. Believe it or not many people like to just shoot at paper or clay pigeons. Or even hunt. Because Gen.9:3 Every moving thing that living shall be meat for you;
But.. Gen 9:6 Whoso sheddeth mans blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. Lev: 24:17 And he that kills any man shall surely be put to death.
Our super-inflated egos sometimes won't let us see what He's been telling us from the beginning.
As far as cops and military I cannot answer for them but that is a choice they make not something commanded by God. Like the choice to live your life for God. Before I gave my heart to God I did a lot of things that were not Godly. After I had to put those things away. Are they given that same oppurtunity if they decide using the entire Word that some things are a contradiction in their life? Obviously. It's not about you or me, but for sake of argument here if you are right I will stand before Him without the shedding of blood on my hands/heart. But if you are wrong.......
