Oh, wow. That's scary. Glad you are okay, which I assume is true being you are posting on AFF.

Lots of damage everywhere. It's just terrible. My son's friend lost everything. House was totally flooded, ruining everything. A very young family. Sad.

Hope you and your family are doing well!

So what about all the donations and $$$ being sent...has your son's friend seen any help from the donations? What a tragedy for this family and thousands of others...will they go back and rebuild or relocate?

He and his family moved in with his sister. They will probably get into an apartment as soon as possible. I don't know what he will do about rebuilding. He was at work yesterday.

Got out and about the last couple of days. Billboards blown out, business signs blown out, fences down, trees down, barns down. Just a lot of debris and devastation. This is going to get very costly, considering the areas affected.

Talked to a friend who had roof and window damage. She said the adjusters are coming out, but they wonder if they can meet their deductible.

It's just a mess for those that were, really, unprepared and didn't think this would happen. We prepared a few years ago by removing some trees that we knew would give us some trouble. My lovely maple tree in the back yard survived with only one small branch broken. I love that tree!

Anyway, continuing in prayer for all those affected.

Posted by James Griffin, in response to Hurricane Harvey:

"Twice in my life I have been reduced to basically the clothes on my back, and I survived. That experience really does change your perspective. Yes we will be starting over. But it is really honestly ok.
My family is safe I thank Jesus Christ for that and grieve for others not so fortunate.
I once posted:
"There is peace in knowing if my entire world were to be an immolation, when the smoke cleared and ashes settled, there would still stand a rock and I safe therein"
Still the truth.
Though He slay me yet will I trust in Him. Job 13:15
We are blessed. "

You mean the Bill Hicks show?

Nah, haven't listened to him in probably 6 or 7 years.
