Would it not be more God-like to live what the Bible teaches? No matter how liberal you claim yourself to be or how ulta con you claim to be there are pastors and church workers that you have showed little or no respect to.
I am not UPC but if I were and felt I could not carry that flag I would quitely bow out. Why kill those that have given bread to you? I have never been UPC or ACI or AMF or ALJC, etc. The God I serve is bigger than any of them groups but I respect them. I may not like some of the things some stand for but they do love the same Jesus I love and we are all baptized in His name.
You donīt like the way the youth congress went...that is ok...you were not the only one BUT some did and some were blessed. Rejoice in that fact.
I thought the rain machine I rented for our kids for them to do a song and theme in their congress was funny...but while that thing was spitting out little tiny shreads of silver paper that was supposed to be rain these kids were weeping all over our church and recieving the Holy Ghost. Something about that related to them. It did not relate to me an old woman...My weeping and speaking in tongues had nothing to do with the rain machine but did have to do with a bunch of kids I love worshipping hours in the presence of the Lord.
A lot of things we donīt do for us we do for others. The Bible says, He that winneth souls is wise. Sometimes we do odd stuff to win a soul.
I donīt always like te songs the church musicians play but it is NOT to me it is to God. He seems to like those songs a lot and blesses while they sing them.
I have watched and noticed over the years in many places if the pastor doesnīt like golf then it is a sin...if he doesnīt like 6 flags then it is a sin...if he doesnīt like some said thing then it is a sin...Whatever that makes us feel more spiritual than the church across town is what we measure of depth of spirituality by...
See I lived when it was a sin among the ultra cons to wear red...and toeless shoes and hose without a seam and all kinds of things, babies were born at home an asprin was as bad as smoking and on and on...I have been in services when they preached wearing glasses was doubting God and watched people break their glasses...then those that kept their glasses were surely lacking faith...
I am not making fun of things that are preached but I see you havenīt been around long and you are in for a shock or two along the way.

I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?
Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

Before you start throughing out the liar line you must first examine all the liberal UPC preachers with TV in their home. Start with your idol AM. From reading the post for the past couple of hours I now have about as much respect for some of you as I do him and that's zero. Now, or the sake of my attitude I humbly bow out of all conversation reguarding this issue. I will refrain from posting on here anymore. I'll simply return to the CAF where there are men of like faith. Good day to all the posters on AFF. This may now return to the liberal left wing forum that you always wanted.

I didn't make the "toes" remark....
AM is not my idol....
I am sorry to doubt the 90% assertion...in my life I have never seen it flesh out like that in the UC churches...trut is, you don't know and you painted youuself in the corner because you said, "They are not UC." I didn't do that...you did.
You can keep standing n your high horse if you want but the condescending attitude is very clear. Botttom line is this, FOG isn't evident in the YC videos or pics...light simply light up the stage...and neither of these things replaced the anitning in that service....and I'm not UPC but will still defend them from the mis-truth that has been spoken here.

So what would be the CORRECT percentage in UC's church?

What I have found to be true is that most people in UC churches comply with the rules and guidelines whether they agree with them or not. "On board" could be taken to mean "agree with", and I'd have to disagree with the 90% too if that's the case...however, if it just means "follow" or "comply with"...well...in the UC church I attended, it was more like 99%.
It could also be pointed out that many UC churches have heavyhanded leadership, and as a result, those who do disagree with what is taught would never DARE to say so, except in a very private setting.

If you have to ask this question then you totally missed my point...soooo.....let me try to give it to ya....
There is no way to really know! His post had an arrogant..."We all do everything the pastor preaches because its in our heart..."...but there is no way this poster knows what is going on in the private lives of the other saints in that church.
How many of them turn on a TV in a hotel room....who knows?
How many of them watch Thanksgiving Day football at the non-UC family gathering....who knows?
Do i think 90 or 99 percent of the average UC saints do it all to the letter...not that I have seen among the ones I have been with...and that's a bunch of them...
LOL...when they are TOGETHER...they'll make a manager of the pizza joint turn off the TV without regard to the other people in the restaurant...but when they are not TOGETHER they are the ones in the living room of grandma's house with their eyes glued to the screen...
UC can post all he wants about how much his fellow congregants follow it all...but he really doesn't know who is hypocriting and who is not...
My experience has been that many UC's live a double life...when they are together they are like staunch holy...but when they are not they "don't let their right hand know what their left hand is doing."
