Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?

Only one time is it recorded in the New Testament Scriptures that someone asked an Apostle how to be saved.

This happened in the Roman colony of Philippi probably in the summer of AD 50. The person asking the question was a jailer. He asked the question of the Apostle Paul. It is recorded in Acts 16:30 that he asked, "what must I do to be saved?" The Apostolic answer is found in verse 31 where Paul said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." It is recorded in subsequent verses that Paul spoke the Word to him and all his house and they all believed. It is also recorded that the jailer washed the wounds of Paul and Silas, that the jailer and his family were all baptized in water (no mention of Spirit baptism) and that they all ate together late at night. Baptism/mikveh was a custom of Judaism and carried over into the early church and we still practice it today after someone gets saved. We also have continued the custom of late night eating together.

Negative. He was perfect, because he was God himself as well as man.

I Peter 2:22 He never sinned, and he never deceived anyone.

I Peter 2:23 He did not retaliate when he was insulted. When he suffered, he did not threaten to get even. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.

II Corinthians 5:21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Well, what is the context?

It is a response to salvation, not a part of salvation.

Yes. Believers get baptized. One does not get baptized in order to become a believer. Nevertheless, I can't think of any good reason to not be baptized immediately and in conjunction with conversion.

Actually, I was wrong, he was not yet perfected until he ascended into heaven.

Glorified is another thing entirely. No fault was found in Him.
