Quite a change from your prevoius Governor. I also don't think Bobby is going to let the idiot New Orleans Mayor sit on his butt and not evaculate the city if needed like the Mayor did with Katrina.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I have already been in contact with our relatives in New Orleans and most are already preparing to leave. We happen to be in Shreveport right now and plan to ride out the storm up here. During Katrina, we had our relatives, my aunt and uncle with their 2 dogs, come and stay with us to ride out the storm. What we did not count on, was my uncle's invalid mother, his two chemically dependent brothers, and a stripper girlfriend. The other thing that no one counted on, was that they would be staying with us for 6 weeks. It did make for some interesting times and we had many stories to tell. My aunt and uncle were fortunate that their house was not affected. His mother lost her house and my aunt's daughter lost her house. Both of which have been rebuilt. I will try to keep you up to date on the happenings, as we plan to go back home as soon as the storm passes.
Blubayou: you, and everyone else are in my prayers. May no harm come to those who trust in the Lord. I say this to one in all who live in these strom prone areas... if you need a place to stay, I'm in NE Alabama. My door is open. We usually get some affects from the storms in the Gulf area, but not real bad. Just know that if you decide to leave, I'll put up as many as I can.

We will certainly keep you in prayer. As we live on the southwest coast of Florida I understand your great concerns. I pray a hedge of protection around you all. Keep us posted how you all are.

Praying for you son's safety too.

Agreed- Ray Ray is currently at the Democratic convention. But I do think he is coming home today or tomorrow.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

I have to go camp at the hospital if it hits us. But, they'll put up the dog and the kids too. And I'll be on the clock the whole time.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

My nephew is a doctor in New Orleans. If he is on call - he will have to camp out at the hospital. He was not on call for Katrina- but went back about a week after it hit and lived at the hospital for about 3 weeks.
