BTW Sherri, sorry for giving misleading signals, I just thought the thread title would get people to read it--it did!
I had to re-read the title after I saw the word cook. Wasn't whether you were Fried or Fired.
BTW it's 7* F/ -14 C here tonight.

Re: I Got Fired.....

Some of the ladies on this forum are clearly the exceptions to the rules as they don't appear to do the box thing.

I think that a lot of the health issues in America are because families eat out of a box.

I have often said... if you want to sell something to a woman then here is the mantra you have to meet.

They will buy it if it can fulfill this one thought.

"Make it look like I did... but i didn't"
  • Perms... It makes it look like they spent time on their hair... but they didn't
  • Boxed entrees/sides/desserts... It makes it look like they cooked... but they didn't
  • Makeup... it makes them look a way they really don't look.

The list goes on and on.

If you want to attract a womans business... sell something that makes it look like they did something... but they really didn't.

You will be rich.

I figured one of Ron's threads would be as good a place as any to post this as he is always in trouble anyway.

how about eliminate the box and just give us someone to do it?

or a man and children who appreciate it, and dont take it for granted, when we DO do it.....it makes DOING it so much more enjoyable

Agreed completely.

We never have a meal pass that we do not thank the cook for the good meal.
Never a day passes that I do not tell my wife I love her and that she is beautiful and I still whistle when she walks across the room.
I thank her for clean clothes etc.
I also do these things on my own as well when the opportunity arises because saying thank you is one thing but taking ones own responsibility for these things from time to time really seem to "do a woman good".
It not only says thank you but it says I do not view you as the only person in this house that does these things.

I completely agree that years of thankless work that goes unappreciated and unnoticed will take the "want to" out of anybody.

Thanks for making the point. It is not understood by far too many spouses.

its not that my husband is unappreciative - he's just like most men, or so I hear from other women....he's not consistent.

Which shocks me b/c most men, I think, need verbal affirmation from their spouse that they do a good job, they are a good husband, father etc.

but they forget and just take for granted all that goes into keeping a family together....

and sadly children are picking up on that same attitude

Yes ma'am.

It is a common mail malfunction. One that does not come natural but once some time and effort have been put into making it part of who they are it can be overcome.

I wish more would.

It is easy.
It works.
And it not only lets her know that you appreciate all she does but it continually reminds me of that appreciation as well and keeps it upfront in our minds.

to be FAIR - dont tell my husband!!

but I too have a hard time TELLING him anything. Seriously. I should reaffirm my feelings to him verbally, but I dont. I know good and well if I did, it would solve 100% of the little things that just irritate me to the point of resentment.

But I dont do it.

call it stubborn, pride, lazy, scared, shy - I dont know...but if I'd do it, it would fix just about anything and everything I can say is "wrong" in my relationship.

Yes ma'am...

In situations like this my prayer includes statements like "If I had it within myself to do this it would have already been done... Help me Lord, in yet another area of my life, to be more like you and less like me"

It sounds like a worthy goal.
