Re: Circuit City closing
If you've got a Fry's - count your lucky stars. We don't, but around here there's a MicroCenter. It's great but doesn't have the selection that the big Fry's stores on the East Coast do.

I needed a copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student for Keith's computer so he could do homework on it (Word and Power Point specifically). It cost me $89 at CC, I saw it at Office Max (our next stop) for $99. In my book, that's not much savings. But then again, I never expect Microsoft to approve giving anything away.

That is a good sale price. Regular price is $150. I suspect MS has been giving huge incentives lately

Thix is west coast, but same thing. The nearest one used to be Simi Valley which is about half an hour on a non traffic day....well we don't have non-traffic days anymore so I guess it should take about 45 min or so
But the one here rocks. I go there when I am bored lol

Prax, you and I could be good friends. I don't pretend to know anything, but I LOVE to just walk around in computer stores and check things out. I LOVE technology. I know women usually love to go clothes shopping. but that doesn't interest me in the least. But a new computer program.......... oh ya! LOVE it.

Re: Circuit City closing
I didn't see any good deals. But folks were cleaning off the shelves as though there was one. ????

I know! I saw that happening, too, Esther. 10% wasn't enough to make me jump up and down!

Re: Circuit City closing
I remember CC being around before BB.
I was kind of sad to hear about CC closing. I don't like to hear about businesses closing, especially CC.
