Daniel 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars for ever.
The holiness and revivalists movements defined the roots of Pentecostalism prior to organization amongst themselves.
Yes, exactly. BTW early methodists taught a doctrine that I think lead to Pentecostalism to a degree. They believed that a person that puts their faith in God needed to wait on God in prayer in order to receive a "confirmation"...tarrying

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
Much prayer and fasting with deep hunger for more of God among a holiness people whose heart and life was prepared to receive it.
I remember brother Andrew Urshan telling of hearing the old time holiness preachers pray in travail with words like this, "Oh God birth a book of Acts Pentecost among us." According to him in that statement, he would hear that kind of praying going on in many places. The sad thing about it is that many who prayed so earnestly for the birthing of a Pentecost among them, did not recognize it for what it was in answer to their praying, then, ended up fighting it.
Again, prayer, fasting, among a people whose lives and hearts had been adequately prepared by a spirit of holiness forged the Pentecostal movement.
I really hope this thread does not become a PCI/PAJC discussion. I really want to talk about what brought about the twentieth century Pentecostal movement.
For instance, it is evident that we are influenced by Wesleyan Holiness theology.
Yes it did, and I believe a lot of denominations considered themselves holiness. Methodist, Nazarene, etc.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV
Some of it was forged by ambitious men who wanted to be the 'pioneers' of something new. I suppose it could be said that the movement was perhaps not born in this notion, but it was forged in it as time went on and men staked out their theological and leadership claim in the Pentecostal wilderness, each attempting to stamp his name on a slice of the movement.

Politics?
