Were devils cast out? It seems in Mexico that we must first cast out devils before people recieve the Holy Ghost.
Not doubting just curious.

Let me clarify. The "Prayer of Faith" is my description. Not Bro. Klinedinst's. It was a simple yet powerful prayer for God to pour out His Spirit. Can't comment on the casting out of devils in Mexico. Although, Luke 11:14 does describe an incident when Jesus cast out a demon that caused a man to be mute. He was able to "speak" after Jesus had performed this miracle.

Here we focus more on the deliverance ministry, and the infilling of the Spirit is the result. There is much demonic oppression/possession here. It does seem to me that in the US they no longer emphasize deliverance but instead emphasize tongues.
People get the Holy Spirit, but not delivered. Many get the Holy Sprit, but do not change. How can one say a person has to repent to get the Holy Ghost if a person does not change after they receive it?

Sorry for the confusion. You stated that devils have to be cast out before the infilling of the Holy Ghost. My response was I don't know because of the hundreds of legalists in the camp. If all the devils had to leave, there wouldn't have been that many people left in the building.
You next post intrigues me. Could you start a new thread about deliverance before the infilling of the Holy Ghost? That is a topic which I would like further info. If you want to pm resources that would be okay.

If that's the case, then there were no legalists present. Since there are some on the board, I would attribute it to God's mercy.
What is the PRAYER of REPENTANCE?
While I'm not familiar with your experience tv1a, I have grown up in this district and can say that the climate has changed. Ohio has always been a "live and let live" district. I can't say that I know everyone on the district board. But I do have great respect (even if my views vary) for those men.
The Prayer of Repentance was a moment when the whole congregation asked God to clean our hearts. Nothing more, nothing less.
I would assume it is the prayer prayed by the Publican as quoted in Luke 18:13. Jesus said the man was justified after praying that prayer.
Or it could be what some of the Orthodox Churches call "The Jesus Prayer" which is some variation of "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, be merciful to me a sinner" which they are encouraged to pray.
Questions:
1. Were they instructed to repeat the sinner's prayer?
and then
2. Were they instructed to repeat certain sounds and phrases to "prime the pump" so they could go on and speak with tongues?
Praise God for this wonderful report!!!!!
Who's report will you believe??
Thank you for sharing it, and just ignore the contentious questions. (my advice )
