I thought maybe it was just a summer slump. It has been very difficult to get a good discussion going lately.
It's impossible.
I've noticed less and less of the good people like Ferd, Miss Brattified and Mizpeh. Even MOW and Michael Phelps have been MIA.
I think, if I were an admin, I would recommend starting over. I would save all resources and history here, close every thread, and start over with a new name.
That seems to be necessary on these sort of sites. I've noticed other forums doing the same thing every so often.

I remember when it was a vibrant, fun-filled forum. I remember passionate arguments and crazy amounts of traffic. There was a time that, if you missed a day, you would find threads you had been following three or four pages back because so many new topics had been posted.
So....what happened?
Now, I can be gone a week, come back, and find that the same old topics are still on the front page.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I will tell you why it's just not as interesting to me as it used to be. It has nothing to do with ownership or admins. The ownership and admins here are great folks.
Here's a few reasons why AFF is just not as interesting.
1. Start a new thread about a serious PENTECOSTAL topic, and within two or three posts you have a few confirmed atheists, universalists or confirmed homosexual agendists posting ignorant, profane crud. These dolts ruin any potentially good discussion.
2. The forum has become too political. I LOVE politics, but that's pretty much all AFF is any longer. Coadie and Esther pretty much think Obama is the antichrist, and on any given day have about ten threads going to prove it. It gets old. Most of it is just recycled hate speech they've received from some anonymous emailer.
3. There is no common bond here. AFF is not an AFF. We are not true to our identity. Many, many, people here are ADMITTED backsliders, unbelievers or never have had any real contact with Pentecost. I'm not talking about differences in standards. I'm saying these folks don't know squat about Pentecost.
There you have it.
Now, FIX IT people!
Agreed... and I would add a fourth item.
4. Dan A has left. And with his exit, a lot of the exciting and passionate discussions have gone as well. He was an excellent pot stirrer, and IMO got people to think. Whether you agree with any or all of his theology or not, you gotta respect the fact that he challenged people to challenge themselves.

Agreed, to an extent.
If you took away Dan Alicea posts and my posts (under all my aliases), this place would be a skeleton. lol.
I think combined we have around 40,000 - 45,000 posts.

I don't want to post what I am really thinking about why I am posting less.
