I am reading that they don't exactly know where the term was generated, but that Johnny Carson made it very popular. LOL!

I believe the Cymbala's have a AOG background, their doctrine is pretty much a traditional AOG view.

BTW, my response to Sam had nothing to do with Brooklyn Tab. It was a general response to the question that is always asked - Should an Apostolic listen or read anything not written or sung by a non-Apostolic? If the work or the song has merit and appeals to me - YES - I read and listen to things by non-Apostolics.

Thank you, I was just jousting back at Sam?

It is my understanding that Jim Cymbala is from a Oneness Pentecostal one-step background and still preaches that one-step salvation. I don't know what words they use when they baptize.

Their statement of faith is clearly trinitarian.

I just went to their site and read the "what we believe" section.
Yes, with words like:
"We believe that God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—and that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of the same worship, reverence, and obedience."
and:
"We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, yet retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man."
do sound trinitarian
