Well, since it's so late and the storm is moving SO slowly eastward, he's decided to stay there and get up and come in the morning, which I think is a much better choice. I didn't feel good about him driving tonight, but he is 21 and he had to make that call.

Sherri, you are a good mama to let him make his own decisions now that he is grown.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Timmy, your point about prayer is well taken and actually I do try to pray that way. Don't want to box God in!
Tina, I think once or twice a year this is a good thing to do. The idea is to let people know that Christians do more than go to church and talk a good talk. We want to actually be a blessing to the community. Should be interesting!
Ya mean, praying against God's will is boxing Him in?

Nah, I just meant I don't like to "demand" things of God so I always make the caveat "if it is his will" when I pray for something I want or want to happen.

OK, then. And that will work every time!

I just got in from the community outreach and the weather was great! Blue skies, puffy white clouds and probably around 80 degrees. Thank the Lord!!!!
I don't know how many people participated from the various churches but I am guessing there were at least around 500 people that spread out to each of the five locations we went to.
My job was to attempt to race to all five locations in a two hour period and videotape a few minutes of the work going on at each. I did manage to make it to all five places but got to the last one just as they were praying and laying hands on the school principal, football coach, etc before leaving. I did get to video some of the work they had done.
Afterwards we all met at a nice park in town where a pavallion had been reserved and we all ate hamburgers and hot dogs together. What was cool was that the four or five churches involved included Charismatics and a Bible Church (who are very anti speaking in tongues). Everybody had great fellowship and no theological arguments broke out and no fistfights!

CC1 Did you hear about the guy that was on the way to sell his cow. His neighbor was in the field and hollered and asked him what he was doing leading the cow down the road, and where was he going.
"Said he was going to sell it!"
The neighbor said, "You really ought to say you're going to sell your cow if the Lord wills!"
The man countered with, "Nah, I'm going to sell my cow. I've got the cow, my friend has the money and I'm taking the cow to him. That's it!"
"You really ought to say if the Lord wills!" the neighbor countered.
In a little while the neighbor looked up and his friend was walking back down the road with his head down, clothes torn and no cow and refused to look his way.
He hollered to him, "Heh what happened? Did you sell your cow?"
"No" he said, "some guy jumped me and beat me up and took my cow!"
"Really! I'm sorry," the neighbor said. "Where are you going now?"
"Home," he said, "if the Lord wills!"
