The Clark family, based in Rocky Mount Virginia is widely known for conducting revival crusades and musical concerts featuring bluegrass and country style gospel music.

Freddy and Sylvia Clark were blessed with eleven children including two sets of twins, twin boys and twin girls. Freddy and Sylvia were married on June 7 1973.

Sylvia is a woman of "presence" in word and deed and in song and appearance. She is also the mother of eleven children with amazing patience to do the job.

The children sing and are gifted in musicianship. They have grown up traveling and working with their parents. Their ages range from thirty-four to twelve-years-old. Their names in order are: Alan, Aaron, Adam, Ashley, Andrew, Austin, Alexander, Abraham, Avery, Aimee and Amber. After nine consecutive boys, the Clarks received the heavenly promise of twin girls.

All the children can sing in vocal harmonies and solo as well as play several instruments including rhythm guitar, harmonica, acoustic bass, electric bass, mandolin, mondola, lead guitar, fiddle, Banjo, drums, and dobro.

Freddy, who plays twenty instruments, gave the children lessons. "God imparted musical gifts to my children," Clark said.

All or part of this thirteen-member family can be seen and heard in personal appearances in some part of the Nation. It is truly a moving experience to see this group perform and minister to people in the Spirit.
Oh good Lord......

Re: Freddy Clark Live at San Diego

The only time I ever want to see a large family where every kids name starts with the same letter is if the parents decided to make it challenging, like choosing the letter X.

Once your past Xavier and Xenia you probably have to dive straight into the realm of sci-fi (not that Xavier and Xenia don't qualify for that as well).

Re: Freddy Clark Live at San Diego

Sermon was interesting but the healing service is painful. I need healing from it. The joking schtick is something else.

That must be why they are preaching at Larsons. I reported recently they were to preach at a nearby church..I have my opinions but I'll reserve them for now..

Oh wait...I thought the title hear said Freddy Clark LIVES at San Diego...ok yeah. Well I don't know why he went there but there isn't much to hear.

I heard him at Thads church. All he did was walk around and pull fat people out of the congregation and say "You have back problems , is that right?"

Re: Freddy Clark Live at San Diego

Ok look. There are certain "gimicks" that these kinds of people do or use. I was at a meeting once where a well known UPC "prophet" was warming the folks up for the gifts to operate.

So he goes over the congregation and zooms in on this one woman. He looks at her and says "You have borderline anemia"...now he could have been wrong...what is borderline anemia? Anyways, this woman had anemia and you could tell by looking at her face. Dark circles under the eyes, face a little pale.

So too at this event Freddie Clark was doing, he picks out some obese folks and declares God told him they had back problems...I was like, what fat person doesn't?!?!

But I've seen this sort of things many times before. No disrespect brother Mike but I don't know what went on with your situation but I feel like some others do when I am in one of these "services"..that there are tricks of the trade these men use. In fact the next service he allowed his son to work over the crowd. It seemed like he was trained to do exactly what his dad did.

In fact it reminded me of the cold readings psychics do...Put hand to forehead. Point to a generalized area and say something like "Is there a...I want to say it starts with an R? A ray over here or maybe someone has a family member that is named Ray? or...oh wait there is a hand. Yes? Ok you have a brother named Ray? And he is in jail now? Ok good"

Im serious. I don't know if they just get lucky sometimes or perhaps they are used in the gifts but hearing from God once about one person in the entire congregation makes for dull healing meetings so they have to fill in the blanks or what...

But I have gone to plenty of these with faith and an open mind and left disappointed at what I saw

In addittion 3 of the boys Adam,Ashley,Austin won a tv contest called Next Great American Band against 10,000 other bands calling themselves Sons of Sylvia and just finished touring with Carrie Underwood ,a close friend, for a year.Kind of a pop, country thing.

Great post. I have no doubt that some people do get healed at a BH or FC type meeting but it is due to their faith. I don't know FC but over the years my opinon is that many of these "faith healers" and people who go around with a "word of knowledge" start out sincere and genuine but over time things change. They either become cynical or there is such a pressure to perform that they start using the methods you outlined in your post.

If a church / pastor promotes a healing service and pays for a man to come do it he is under pressure to deliver. Over time that probably affects many of them in how they approach things. These type services really do remind me of gypsy's "psychic" services.
