Our problem is not with our profession, but with our passion.

Return to the first and great commandment.

You shall LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

Put the FIRST COMMANDMENT back in first place in the teaching and preaching and PASSION will follow.

If there is a better way to stir passion someone let me know.

Re: I am ashamed...

There is an interesting thing about this forum.

Whenever I log in, I see many people reading the forums as "guests"

I'm pretty sure this forum is being read by people whose hearts are hungry to learn more and know more about Jesus. I would not doubt that God is using this forum to bring people farther along in their knowledge of Christ.

I thank God for the burden of missionaries that takes them all over the world to reach people for Jesus.

Some though are called to reach people right where they are.

Nah, a lot of folks have their settings on invisible mode, so then the system registers them as guests.

You have to go to your user cp to do that.

Lots of lurkers.

Re: I am ashamed...

Lovin it!!!

Elderest Epley is not ashamed, does that mean he is proud?

Sis Alvear is ashamed, of those that are missing the boat.

Hmmmmm, wonder which attitude God likes the best?

Kinda reminds me of... God resisteth the proud but giveth grace to the humble.

Re: I am ashamed...

I like the way this translation reads.. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity of cowardice of craven and cringing and fawning and fear – but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well balanced mind and discipline and self control” (2 Timothy 1:7Amp).

Amanah,
I waited for a long time for GOD to open that effectual DOOR for me. I felt HE
was calling me but I just didn't know what. My family kept telling me, "You
already have a ministry, the ministry of encouragement. My late father went
to campmeeting in the mid-80's, purchased a tape by one of the special speakers.
Dad had never bought me an individual tape before. The name of the message was,
"The Church Needs Encouragers".

Until around 2003-4, I didn't know how to turn a computer on. Didn't have one,
didn't want one. My life had been so full with various duties, I was tired and felt
as if I were on overload. I had also spent several years prior to this in intense Bible
study and much time alone with God.

Then one day my technology expert sons, not only gave me a computer, but set it
up for me. believing their "aging" mother would enjoy it! Little did we know that God
was setting us up! No, the effectual DOOR didn't come open for me, but a WINDOW
ministry did. First Windows XP, then Windows 7. The opportunities are endless.

My husband now owns a technology store. Computer sales and repair. It not only
provides a nice retirement supplement, but has become a good place for him to
witness. Each morning, he goes out the door to his place of business, and I go out
my WINDOW, to pray, to witness, to teach, to encourage, whatever! Thank YOU, LORD.
YOU knew just what we needed!

AFF is but one of the places I go most days for my effectual WINDOW ministry!

To be used of God to sing, to speak, to pray
To be used of God to show someone the way
I long so much to feel the touch of His consuming fire
To be used of God is my desire
