But I don't think accredidation quite works that way either. There are many different universities that share a common name but that doesn't mean they share accredidations. Maybe I'm still fuzzy as to what is actually going on?

I believe you are correct. My understanding is that UGST was accredited by somebody for the Masters / Doctorate portion of a degree but I don't think that would automatically make the undergraduate part it will gain by absorbing Gateway accredited.
I hope they will be able to get accredited as a Liberal Arts University and be able to offer accredited degrees. I had hoped Great Lakes University would pull this off but I understand things are not going well there and I don't know if it is even operating anymore.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If there is a grammar sheriff then I am in trouble big time. There must be thousands of warrants out for my arrest!

Can't remember who the accreditation is being done through, but this process at Gateway has been going on for much longer than a year. We have been getting updates on their progress at every MO District Conference for at least the last three years.
UGST is taking over/or rather purchasing Gateway. There are already accredited. ...and yes, this coming school year (fall of 2011) will be officially accredited.
Gateway's website doesn't seem to know that.
"To benefit our students until we achieve accreditation, we have arranged cooperative agreements with local Christian colleges."
