Re: Missing church to be the church

I was taught that church was the center, an you build everything around it, like the town square.

I was taught that if you put God, Church, prayer, soul winning, outreach, ect first, God would make sure your family was saved.

Re: Missing church to be the church

It all depends. If it is a Church that teaches the full gospel and the people love each other to me THAT IS my family.

46 While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him. 47 One said to him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
48 But he answered him who spoke to him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 49 He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.” Matt. 12:46-50

Re: Missing church to be the church

To me there are legitimate reasons for missing congregational fellowship,if someone has to work or help their family that is not the same as laying out.

Re: Missing church to be the church

I very rarely will miss church. I miss no more than one regular service very often for my job. I have run late or missed prayer meeting on occasion when I was witnessing to someone. It does not happen very often, and I try to be a witness no matter where I go and who I am with. I do not believe that it does not have to be in church or being a witness, but that it is being a witness and being in church.
