Lol, ok, maybe not so much the "whole world is against them" part. Just see that these are people who haven't gotten their share of plain old "acceptance," no matter what. When they feel that, they'll unclench. You can witness an immediate difference when instead of hedging, defending, you encourage them--you can even encourage someone who is deluding themselves into seeing the truth in the matter; all by themselves, just by your encouragement; doing exactly the opposite of what they're used to. It is a beautiful thing to watch, lol.

Hmm not sure I buy the comparison. And AB, T2W you are both making the same point, or actually there is more than one point operating here, and we have a lot, actually, wrapped up in this title and it's opening act...

1) Church is a personal choice.
2) One seeks change in areas important to them, revealing where their heart is.
3) Grace can overcome what judgement never can.

And I suggest that when you are able to proceed from the assumption that (I) am a lost, scared child, your little brother, you will then have a better perspective from which to operate in the church-hoppers or any other case, and you might also get to see the truth that this rebel invariably has for you, it comes like from the mouth of babes (well, you can tell they're cousins.) It'll strike you as being an out-of-character profound thing they've just said. But you won't get to hear it if they feel condemnation, so...

Remember this; God does not have rebels with special causes. he unites not scatters, His plan is unity of the body under one God, one faith, and one baptism, at least that is what the scripture states, unless someone has changed that one too.
Oh there's more; One God and the Father father of you all and in you all. Almost forgot that one..

See also that the Word is a sword, sharply dividing. Revelation will only come for you when you change your mind and demonstrate some Grace, rather than just talking about it.

God can make followers from rocks, and Christ was the ultimate rebel, let us not forget. Unity in the vine does not mean that our branches will be clones, but proceeding from the same belief, that established, codified "religions" by definition will obscure.

The fact that I don't believe exactly what you believe, and vice-versa, does not mean that we both do not agree where it matters, and excluding some rebel because of one's blindness to truth is not God's way, is not Grace.
