My old pastor believed deeply in these scriptures, so deeply that he turned down chemotherapy, instead choosing to go with prayer, fasting, reading his Word, and something called the halleleujah diet. He lasted a year. No way am I gonna turn down treatment for things I suffer from after that. The miracle is in the advancements that medication has made.

That's sad, but at least he was an adult, making his own decisions. I really hate when this happens to children because of their parents' decisions.

I would turn down chemo. Has nothing to do with my faith.

?

I have to know. What on Earth did this consist of? Is it eating at the Golden Corral every meal and shouting "Hallelujah!"?

Chemo can be a blessing or a curse. Where there is a reasonable chance of 'cure' it is well worth the try, especially for those who would be cut short in the middle of raising a family.

However it is also a viable option to say no. This is often not respected by friends, family or even medical professionals. When there is little hope for cure and one is exchanging quanity for quality of life I believe that what you say is not only reasonable but often best. Unfortunately it is the rare patient who has the foresight to choose it.

I am very glad that my mom did not just spend her last days undergoing an open heart operation that she could not have survived but there was not a lot of support for her refusal.

Re: God's Healthcare Plan

There are natural inexpensive cures for all major diseases including cancer that are more effective than chemo but pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know about because they would lose billions if the truth where known. Drugs never cured anybody.

Don't quote me on this, but no sugar, no meat, no carbs (I only know by what I saw him stay away from) He died of a mixture of cancer and malnutrition.

Re: God's Healthcare Plan

God can cure anything, but nobody said you have to turn down treatment in order for God to cure you. It's a miracle if you survive cancer. That should be enough. Anything past that is just trying to prove a point, and you may put God in a position that He feels it's more glorifying your religion, or glorifying yourself instead of glorifying Him.
