Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

I relay on our 2nd Amendment which allows me to pursue my OWN self defense and leave the "police" out of the loop.

Yes, this seems to be a travesty of justice but once Sharpton and Jackson are through anything less then a death sentence for the perp will result in rioting and a hundred thousand Air Jordan shoes being stolen from the surrounding malls.

Broadbrushing isn't something I'd recommend. No, I haven't had run-ins with police officers like many of my own peers have. Assuming you weren't adding to the officer(s) reason to pursue you, I can't see your justification in saying "cops," as if all of them "will do anything, anything, to cover their trails and say they did nothing wrong. Even if it means a guilty man going free."

Seeing that you're in Southern Louisiana, I wouldn't put it past a small town officer to see what he can get away with. But, even still, it doesn't mean all cops are what you're painting them out to be, unless you were up to no good to begin with...

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

You know what drives me to rage? Not just the fact that Trayvon was killed, but the fact that it is ALL over every news outlet simply because it was a white man killing a black teen. What is the purposeother than to feed the flames? Further, since I have intentionally ignored most all coverage by constantly flipping the channel, what details do we all really know? Are we sure Trayvon wasn't doing something suspicious? Zimmerman admitted to the shooting, but do we know if he had a reason to be so suspicious of Martin? It seems the mad rush of our media was to immediately paint Zimmerman as racist, paranoid and crazy.

I am MORE OUTRAGED over the story out of Kansas City where a 13 yr old White boy was followed home, assaulted and LIT ON FIRE by two BLACK boys who were reported as saying "this is what you deserve white boy". Yet this gets NO NATIONAL media attention. No access on "Inside Edition". No lawyers on TV press conferences. No celebrity support. No Facebook flooding. It has been ignored or buried for over two weeks, and now the sheriff there REFUSES to acknowledge that it was a hate crime!

if it had been two whites lighting a black 13 yr old on fire we would NOT BE able to turn on a tv without seeing Jesse Jackson or Rev Al calling for everything but riots.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE

My point is, justice is for ALL, not just Trayvon.

There will ALWAYS be stupid people who are racist, but it seems the media is perfectly happy to ignore racism towards whites while pushing anything that can be construed as racism against a black to the forefront. For political motivation I have no doubt.

Strange, still sad. I've not heard anything about the KC incindent myself here in Dallas.

And I wholeheartedly agree about the media statements. Unfortuntately, though, the truth of the matter is that the pendullum swings both ways whether we want to admit it or not. Some people understand that statement, yet others see it as stuck on one side or the other...

I used to believe it swung both ways, and ok, still do, but it sure doesn't seem to stay in the middle very long.
