My kids have been telling me about a lot of gay/lesbian activity going on at the school. So that is why when my son texted me, I immediately assumed the worst.

Yes, this is exactly what my husband said, that this kind of thing has been done for years in schools, as a joke. However, I do think that it is a more sensitive issue now because of the recent incidents where this message is actually being pushed in the schools as "normal".

They all make me vomit.

I tried to watch it (really didn't want to), but my internet is so slow, wouldn't allow me to. It is all just "ugh" to me too.

Yes, Idaho does offer a public homeschooling program called K-12. We have friends who enrolled their children in it. Their children were borderline genius, and two out of three of them began to fail, simply because it was so hard for them to have to sit in front of a computer all day long, and everything is done on the computer. They didn't have the stimulation that comes from being with other people and children. That family has since switched to a home school program with books and material that requires reading and writing, instead of sitting in front of a computer.
We have debated about what to do here because of the schools. Idaho has such a terrible public school system because parents that really care about education either put their kids in home school or charter schools. The remaining children in the public schools have parents who either don't care, or don't have the capacity to home school them.
I know my kids would not be able to do the K-12 program, having to sit in front of a computer to do their work. We can't afford private charter schools. They enjoy the interaction of other people, and have always done well in school. However, the kind of activity that is going on right now at their high school is making me question what we need to do for the remainder of their education.
