LOL! Well, sorry about the ankle. I think I'd rather break that than my arm, right?

Hmm, to be honest, I was drunk. I was 15 years old, camping with my friends so that's maybe why I broke my ankle instead of my arm. One of the guys rode past me very fast on his motorcycle and spooked the horse. The horse took off and left me behind. Or maybe I broke my ankle because the guy was an idiot.

Ouch! Breaking that ankle must have hurt! I think it would be better to break your arm, because anytime you break a joint, it just never heals together the same, but when you break a long bone, those heal much easier, and with far less complications than any break with a joint.
Of course, riding the horse drunk wasn't the best idea, and you must have got your foot caught in the stirrup, not fun at all!
I personally don't ride horses for the very reason that I prefer to keep my bones intact. Almost every single person I know who has ridden a horse has had a fall, and falling like that doesn't interest me at all! Lol..

I was riding bareback, no stirrup, so when the guy went by on his motorcycle, the horse moved very fast out from under me and there was just nothing to hold onto. I got back on the horse, went back to camp thinking it was probably a sprain, and moaned in the tent. I took one of my friends blowup mattresses and put my foot up on it. She and another friend came in the tent later, drunk too and said "What is she doing with my mattress??" and yanked it out from under my foot! Yikes! That hurt!! I had to ride horseback back to the house the next morning and that was a killer.

My goodness, that must have been a rough time for you! How long did it take you to recover from that?

Talked to my daughter, and she is doing great. She got back on the horse that bucked her off! She is a brave girl! I am looking forward to seeing their performance this Friday night, where they perform, and show all the techniques and skills they have learned, and worked on all week.

6 weeks. I was young and healed pretty fast. I didn't need surgery or anything. I never said anything to my friends. That was how I was, just kept my hurt to myself mostly. Never said anything to the guy on the motorcycle either.
