Re: would like some proven health advice
Dear Good Samaritan: I recently have stumbled upon a lot of amazing info on detoxing and maintaining balanced ph levels, etc. I know to many it seems laughable & like quackery but I am experiencing amazing levels of new energy. I decided a while back, with our pathetic health system overdosing so many people I don't want to live that way.
Please know, I AM NOT promoting any product brands nor am I in any pyramid selling schemes. I buy most things from my local health food store.
I went to a naturopath as I too had a lot of stomach problems following a terrible bout of bronchitis and a round of antibiotics in January. She prescribed a very good probiotic (refrigerated). I also drink Apple cider vinegar (1 TBSP) diluted in 8 oz. of water, take black walnut hull, cloves, wormwood and Oregano and am drinking lots of water. I'm also spending time in the sauna sweating out impurities.
I cannot believe how much better I am feeling. I'm astounded. It is a journey & I was one of those who thought people who did this sort of thing were
weird but I am seeing results.

I was considering the apple cider vinegar. Someone else said Apple Cider Vinegar would help with the stomach issues and maybe helps metabolism. Hot peppers help increase metabolism, so I have been told? So far the last week my family have biked about 4 miles a day almost every day. I am not seeing any results at all yet, except maybe my energy levels may be slightly higher.

take care of your gut and it will take care of you. at 240 your intestinal bacteria is the same as that of a starving person. Weird but true

ya, it can be very tough for some people, i guess. Typically someone with a spare tire is overdoing fructose, likely eating lots of hfcs etc. So they have a candida overgrowth which has displaced most of the good gut bacteria, which must be eradicated before the probiotics will re-establish themselves. This describes most Americans pretty well. There are candida cleanses, but they are harsh, and not as effective as a three day fast with a morning chili/lemon flush.
The idea being to break the sugar addiction, and change the habit. If you go right back to several sodas a day, etc, it is pointless, but this doesn't mean you can't have sweets, or even some sugar; but even most of our probiotics--yogurt, kefir, etc--come with a hefty dose of sugar in them. Better to just eat some fermented foods as a habit, apple cider vinegar, etc, after eradicating candida, and even a course of probiotics in capsule form then, with as many different cultures as possible, like at least 8.
And best of luck there, i know it is tough. Fasting seems impossible to someone on a high sugar diet at first, and all said and done this is essentially about one's ability to fast. Seems like you're starving to death, when you quite obviously have a spare tire that you could run a month on
if you drink soda, you might want to get over that habit before you even try to fast. Raw honey helped there.
So, get Mormon tea, go camping in the woods for 3 days, do whatever you need to do to fast for 72 hours. And then a good gut regimen requires a short fast every few days to rest the gut, but honestly those will be easy after the 3 day one. I don't even think of them as fasts now; they are just 2 or 3 meals that i skipped.

Re: would like some proven health advice
candida is just essentially a patch of weeds in your yard. You can spread grass seed (probiotics) all you like, but until you remove the patch you can't get grass to grow there. Symptoms of candida overgrowth are frequent uti and other infections, skin problems, clubbing, sinus issues, fungus issues, and others.
People are actually even having their infected lymph nodes removed, yikes. By people with the title of "Doctor" who should arguably be in prison, because they know better. But Dr's don't get paid by healthy patients.

Finally you are making sense.
I take my hats off to you for the first time ever.
I knew you had some common sense somewhere inside that head of yours.

Re: would like some proven health advice
I never have been a big soda drinker, but I am sweet tea and coffee man. I would say that my hangup is the starchy foods (Breads and potatoes). I have been doing about only water for the the last couple days. I recently have went to the healthier whole wheat breads, but I am not sure if it is good for weight loss. Many people have advised me to go zero to no carbs. Been a while since I have been on a three day fast. Fasting has never been about weight loss for me, but I have always thought it was good for the body as well.

Zero or low carbs is more than a three day fast.
Slowly increase calorie burning via exercise, reduce carb intake, you'll get to where you want to be. Then burn more calories and eat what you like (as long as its healthy!) and you'll stay where you want to be.
