I wonder if you live close enough so we can be co-teachers.

a) Not necessarily generational curses, just what do you want to do better in your life than what your own family did, especially if non-Christian home, but applicable to Christian homes as well

b) yes, thinking 30 yrs from now, instead of 6 months

I actually have a strong burden for teaching about marriage and parenting. Just had the first child, though, so I don't think the timing is right yet.

We start classes on September 2nd.

I have decided to go with writing my own curriculum for the class. I have spoken with the pastor and he feels good about it.

I will be starting out with a series that cover how the Bible and Christianity in general affects the most basic parts of our lives.

This will include...
  • The way we interact with, treat, respond to & speak to others.
  • Our faithfulness and consistency with those around us at work, school, home, in the family.
  • What our reasonings & thought processes are when we choose the ways we present ourselves. Even down to what we drive and the way we drive.
    etc, etc, etc

No lists... no rules... but Christianity in a "rubber meets the road" fashion that engages the young people in a real world discussion about how Christianity affects the way they live their daily lives with open discussion to help them first realize the parts of their lives that we should think about these things and then gain some good insight into how to search out what the right answers should be to these questions.

I plan on writing the curriculum a week or 2 ahead and compiling it as I go to put to use for some wider scale plans I have outside this class.

Things are moving along well and I am very excited.
