But it's the men too....or maybe they aren't smiling cuz the women are all dour?
Well, my opinion of some of those avatars that are looking so sad is they are making a statement that they are 'bad to the bone' and you better not mess with me because I've got the truth!

How'd you know I have the truth?

Some Apostolics are living in constant fear. They are terrified of what they might accidentally do to make God mad at them. And they can't be 100% sure they got all the steps right for salvation. They're not sure if they dress modestly enough, all the time. Not sure if they are doing enough for God. (And they can't, by the way. There is always more they could do. Does God just let that slide?)
They can't be sure where they will spend eternity. In their minds, they will make heaven if they: 1. Correctly understood the Bible's way of salvation, in every detail (and the arguments among OPs about this have to make one wonder). 2. Performed every step correctly (even if they understand the steps, what if they were just a tad off in performing one of them?). 3. Live holy. At least holy enough. And at least at the moment of the end of their lives. If you slip up, repent and be forgiven. Simple. But there's a gap, where if they died or the rapture happened, oopsie. Eternity in hell, just by bad luck.
Living like that'd make me frown.

Just had this conversation with my daughter and her boyfriend last night. We were in a Starbucks, late in the evening, very few customers, and a lady who was obviously Apostolic of some variety walked in. She would not make eye contact with me or smile, and this is not an isolated incident. There are so many Apostolic churches in my area, and the large majority operate in that manner. I don't really comprehend the rational behind this.
