Keep in mind this is a Jaguar. They are very expensive to work on and the parts are very expensive. Think limited edition luxury car!!!!! I still would love to own one though.
Jags are a lot better now but they have never had a reputation for being reliable. Years ago guys I knew at a dealership that sold both Mercedes and Jags said that people would come in the showroom and they would let them ooh and ahhh over the jags and then would say "now that you have that out of your system let me show you a car that won't leave you calling me and cursing me out when it leaves you stranded at 4am in the morning!". Now that was before Ford had brought the quality level up but that is the reps jags have (along with beautiful cars, great leather and wood, etc).

Many of you know I only paid 10,000 for the car. They told us we could probably get 1500.00 out of it for parts. I loved that car.
We own a 2002 tahoe but we keep that in nashville , for our staff to use.
So we had to go purchase a new vehicle. With our new baby Adley coming we needed an SUV. So we bought a Black 2008 Expedition EL.
Its nice, but its NOT my Ebay Jaguar. I loved that car

Will the Jag drive or run at all?

Seeing the repair prices you quote in this email reminds me of why I gave up Mercedes for SUV's. Three hundred and fifty dollar oil changes, European car maintenance cost is unbelievable. We love our new Expedition.

There is something wrong with a car that has a light reserved for GEAR DEFAULT...like they expected that to happen...
Does the credit card you bought it with have buyer's insurance? Or was it not a cc but paypal? Do they have buyer's insurance?

Jekyll! You are right and I totally didnt think about that until You said it. My ex bought his step son a car on ebay and since it totally died within a certain amount of time (very short amount of time too) his cc company reimbursed a certain amount to his account due to some type of clause they have ( Its something like the lemon law type deal without having to go thru court) I dont remember what the time frame is on this but indeed something Vicki should look into!
