ROFL!!!!! Too funny!

I was actually pulling for Canada, I knew it would be HUGE for them, and for most of us Americans, it would have just been "YAY, we won!" LOL!!

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics

It is over & I am glad it is.
While it was fascinating seeing it literally in my own back yard & some of the sports piqued my interest (curling, who knew?) I agree with what one commentator wrote, "the NHL has no place at the Olympics!"

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?...yhoo&type=lgns

If the NHL played at the 1980 Olympics would it still be a miracle?
It is supposed to be about "amateur sports" not "Pro's"

Is getting 14 Golds which is a record for any nation nice? I guess, but is it really earned when NHL guys bring it home?

The Russians are having a hissy fit & cross the Canada/US border people are trading barbs about the prowess of thier athletes.
That can't please God.

Remember, we in Vancouver will still be paying for this when most of you retire!

What did you think of the games?

PS Congrats to the US for winning all those medals.

I thought it was a great Olympic year, I thought Canada did wonderful, and I am super proud of America, we broke the Winter Olympics record for most medals won by a country! Pretty cool!

And, I am apparently a racist (tic!) I am not real fond of Russians at this point in time...

The Russians are ticked off because they can't play their pros against our amateurs like it was when they dominated the Olympics.

Well, they have certainly showed an overall lack of good sportsmanship throughout the games. I'm amazed, apparently they do not have the ability to be embarrassed by their lack of goodwill, I guess I will just have to be embarrassed for them!

Ditto!

Loved the games!!! Everything was great!!! Loved the Four-Man Bobsled race. So glad that Steve Holcomb was able to get a gold medal. He was suffering from degenerative eye disease and almost had to give up the sport. But, he had surgery and is fine.

I was very happy that the USA put the Hockey game into overtime. It made the loss a little more bearable. We were almost home when they tied it up. I jumped out of the car and ran into the house to watch the remainder of the game. Wish I would have stayed in the car! LOL!

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics

Protocol states that we hand off the Olympic flag to the next host nation & the President of Russia was supposed to be at the Closing ceremonies but canceled after we beat the Russians in hockey.

There were people joking that we could Fed Ex it to him if he didn't show up.
Turns out the Mayor of Sochi took the flag.
