I would like to make this plain, no disrespect to the elders who have posted their views in this thread. The Lord knows I love you Brothers, I just have to say I will never hurt another person ever again. I will not go to a place where I would have to feel the locked focus of having to see the "other" individual as something that needs to be shut down, put out of commission.

Brothers I love my family and If we would have a situation (on the road or in my home) I would deal with it, through the power of the Holy Ghost. The Lord would give me what I needed at that time. I hate seeing children in fear, especially my own kin, and I would feel my blood run cold if anything would cause my girls to be frightened. I pray to the Lord and I am totally confident that He honors His word the same way He honors it when I pray for a sick person, with cancer, or another illness. The same way He honors it when I cast out a devil or when I baptize someone in Jesus name, and pray them through to speaking in tongues.

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Can He protect my babies and my wife like He did for Lot? I believe He will, and He has protected my family as we traveled 24 hrs to 48 hr (at times) driving in the old Lincoln through truck stops across this country. Passing through bad neighborhoods, rough towns, and during break downs when there was no one but me and my wife and an infant in a car seat.

I preach living on faith, I'm full time and the only one I depend on is Jesus, and if He can't get me out of a situation then I don't think I could do any better.

I am convinced that Jesus taught non-retaliation, no use of deadly force for any reason. You all pray for me.

If an attacker tried to hurt my children or wife, I would stand in front of them. The attacker or attackers would never get passed me. I would never need to use deadly force, just the power of Jesus Name.

All I hve to say about all of this stupid conversation, you are far more spiritual than I could ever hope to be.

I did not mean to be vulguar concerning your wife, but to present some real possibilities in face of your supposed non-violent stance. But, I have to tell you that I believe you about as much as I believe the moon is made of green cheese.

Take your high and holy road. I will just tell you that I am but a worm and will take violent actions in such a senario as I presented to you.

I will bow out of this conversation since you first accused me of being impolite to you, accused me of not considering the will of God since I used the word "I" twice in a post, accused me of being vulgar with your wife.

Therefore, I have no need in being involved in this, what I consider to be a very hypocritical conversation. I do not pretend to be so holy. I will take up arms when it is needed.

This is the end of my involvment in this DUMB conversation.

After reading most of these posts, all I can say is, we've all got a long way to go to be like Jesus.

I suppose only when we have our own 'garden of Gethsemane' will we accomplish that. It took Jesus quite a while for His own flesh to die.

I told you true stories of how I experienced Jesus take care of both my safety and other people's. I listed many scriptures that testify of how a believer in Jesus should respond. I am sorry you cannot believe Jesus and His Word for this. It is very liberating to trust Him for ALL things.

My experience is that men who have no reasonable evidence, seldom accuse another man of lying unless they have something they want to cover up. Such tactic is usually nothing more than a maneuver to poison the well of an information source whose testimony will harm an indefinable position. So your calling me a liar is based on what evidence…?

I will say that the most disheartening thing about our discussion is that you refuse to offer any biblical support for your stance. But in all things I say, "Sola scriptura" (Scripture alone) is the only way to verify biblical Truth. "Prima scriptura" is based on improving the Bible by using other sources, and "Sola Verbum Dei," which the Catholics use, says the Word of God is partly Scripture and partly tradition. Neither of these are the way to determine biblical Truth or true faith in Jesus Christ. But I think with you offering no scripture it is plain to see that you do not agree with Sola Scriptura in this discussion. Too bad.

I have not read this thread entirely - only the last few pages - I agree with your posts L&F. Constaining an offender and handing him over to the "powers that be" or "rulers" should be the Christian response.

I do not think cooking dinner is the intent of scripture... IF it is done to cover the man's sin or to not hold him accountable...

BUT... IF, God would grant you such boldness in your heart, and you washed the feet of a murderer in prison (even guilty of killing one of your family) you may very well convert him to Jesus Christ. The love of God is FAR greater than any such selfless act, and by showing a microcosm of His love you may win some. It is a Biblical concept.
