There was no electricity so they used oil lanterns when it was dark. But folks went to bed early and got up early.
I learned to not walk in her yard barefooted.
Had a few cane chairs and some leather chairs that matched the cows out in the fields.
Oh and almost forgot the quilt frame that was over the bed, that was in the living room.

This sounds like my grandmothers house - complete with the quilting frame over the bed in the bedroom
(Wasp, outhouse and all - cept the pigs were on the other side of the property but the chickens were right there)
You know, I wouldnt mind going to just such a place for about a week or two - for vacation.
just the good old simple basics - outhouse and all.
wouldnt that be peaceful?
