I asked what would I do that for? He said that the ones who had checked out that morning covered their TVs with towels so devils couldn't crawl out of them. They even told them that when they came up front for breakfast he had to turn the TV in the lobby off so no devil would come out of the TV and get them.
I asked where there were from. He told me all over, that they had rented every room in the hotel that week for a meeting of some kind. I told him they were NOT my kind.
The stupid stuff people do and then they wonder why the world won't even take a second look at us.

Was that when camp meeting was still at Perryville? That may have been what they were there for.....

Sad preachers that all they can think to preach is junk... No wonder they run off with women they have no REAL substance in the spiritual world.
Some have been shocked at a few things I have said in the past about UC's and took it to mean I am against someone. That is not the case at all. I think if a lady has the Holy Ghost she will behave and dress like a lady. That does not mean I am against standards. I just get a funny feeling when a preacher can only preach about women whether it be how she dresses or whatever...And I know men from all camps mess up but I have been around long enough to also KNOW people usually reveal WHAT is in their heart by their messages...WATCH and LISTEN closely.
We had one visit us one time that harped on ladies wearing hose when all the time he was having sex with his maid...
When he finished his message I told Brother Alvear, something is wrong with this guy...AND no I did not tell my ladies of Brazil they have to wear hose...most do not have bread money.
In no way am I making fun of anyone. Those that know me KNOW I would not hurt anyone on purpose. However when all a preacher has to say mainly is about dress and authority something is usually wrong...terribly wrong…
And let me add for those that think I have no lines or boundries...A free for all is not the order of the day either...
We need balance in the Apostolic ministry. If you remember on another thread I said, "I do not like to call my church Apostolic..." to much comes under that name... even the Catholic church here is called Apostolic.
Just now in the states someone called me and said they did not agree with our church name. Cathedral of Praise. The Bible told us to come into His courts with praise...
And how in the world did this thread go this way...

Ummmmmmmm.....I would bet this was not UPC he's talking about. Sounds more like Church of Jesus Christ or AMF. Those UPC guys at camp meetings were thrilled to have TV's in their rooms!

Why do some people have to teach their flock they are the only ones with some special revelation right from the buring altar and why are people so dumb to believe these things anyway?

About like my dear grandbaby...Raul Jr and wife and baby are here in Sao paulo with us at the moment. She said she wanted chocolate last night and Brother Alvear gave her a peice of carmel candy. She looked at me and whispered, "He lies..." I said, why darling does grandpa lie...she said this is not chocolate it is carmal...
Maybe that could apply in the spirit world...Except for the fact some people would believe carmel was chocolate if the preacher said so.

You are so right! Great post as usual.
btw, when I sell things for my brother's church here... it is the coworkers who are Catholic that have absolutely no problem spelling out "Apostolic" on their checks.... I have to give spelling and pronunciation lessons to everyone else. In fact, just a couple weeks ago I had discussion here with several who bought something... they got to talking about their church being the true Apostolic church... staunch Catholics they are.

The whole Perryville, TN area probably has more Apostolic oneness churches per square mile than anywhere else in the country!
About 15 years ago I represented Allen and Hammond organs, and I visited most of the churches in the area. I remember mentioning to one of the pastors that I was raised UPC, and he practically ushered my liberal self out the door!
