Re: Do OPs have a grace problem?

Yes, Oneness Pentecostals have a grace problem... we refuse it and attempt to be justified in God's sight by our performance apart from His love and grace... which was exemplified... at the cross.

If we who profess to be "holiness" TRULY understood GOD'S HOLINESS... we'd cling to the doctrine of GRACE like it was our very breath.

So pathetic.

You accused ME of saying we must obey Gods commands. That's so twisted.

I quoted scripture. From Christ. From his apostles. Were they "religious chest beaters"?

To Christ a man obeying his teachings is not unusual. His mighty power inside them is greater than any power. Its like I said teachers of destruction will never hear that. Rather they delight in calling the sincere disciples "self righteous".

You read the Bible. If you don't know Christs commands by now Im starting to think you never will.

But heres something you can do if indeed you are called to it.

Notice the words of Christ.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo , I am with you alway , even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt:28:20

Observe all things I have commanded you.

Do this and you will live.

17 And the world passeth away , and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:17

Aquila

It is by grace that the born again believer can say "Oh death, where is your sting?" upon his or her death bed.
Check the context. It is AT THE RESURRECTION where the Spirit says this.

51 Behold , I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep , but we shall all be changed , 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound , and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed . 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written , Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory 1 Cor 15:51-55

This is never quoted as something fulfilled at your death.

But it is part of his grace. We have just begun to see his grace.

13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober , and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 1 Peter 1:13-15

Well... you just go ahead and live your life to impress God and earn salvation. I pray God honestly thinks you're the stuff with all your efforts to impress.

Me, I'll fall on my face before mercy and grace and surrender, know there is NOTHING I can do to deserve such a wonderous salvation. I'll live prayerfully seeking Christ's likeness to be formed in me. Some days I might do well... others I might not do so well. But ultimately, I'm in the hands of my Father as long as I remain surrendered to Him.

I've seen too many talk smack about grace... until something happens and they suddenly need it.

The simple thing is he (aquila) plays both sides of the coin. Saying oh you can lose salvation yet ohhhh you believe in performance salvation or somthing similar. Then he plays gives a whole bunch reformed/arminian dogma of inability with his spin and then claims we are EARNING salvation if we believe works have a reality toward God judging us worthy because we cant' impress God. In the end he does not listen to you and mistates what you say, while missing the whole position you have by saying something totally different. Then make a statement acting like you disagree with some basic principle everyone agrees with. He has done this forever and after a while it gets rather annoying.
