BTW the reason for bringing up the other points was the assertion that such stuff was about modesty and later called Tradition and that those that called it tradition got rid of the standards.....not just an argument about makeup, but the response goes to that point you raised....Even the more conservative amoung us have gotten rid of a lot of "standards" that were once called modesty but later called tradition. Does that mean we never should have gotten rid of them?

Also many of our old timers never did have all these standards. Many of the old timers were fine with jewelry. It was another segment that fought against it. Your argument would be more true if and only if every one always believed in these standards.

Coadie, the real question is: do you have Bible against the use of cosmetics or not?

It's funny when people don't have Bible for something, because then they just start insulting other people and throwing up silly smokescreens. Trust me...we can all see right through the screen. I don't think the smoke is thick enough.
For real and talk about chasing rabbits - - oh my goodness!

Thanks.

Do you think the 75 minutes it takes to put on makeup for some women is the best investment of time?

Surely they don't witness 75 minutes a day.

So you can't answer?

Is 75 minutes to put on makeup wasted time?

Tammy Fay baker is an example of more is better.

They sure get large churches. But you can't give an example of 1 case of cosmetics being beneficial for soul winning.

Not even one from the bible.

will your pastors wife teach ladies how to shun women that don't wear makeup?
You need to refresh your search engine - - 75 minutes is EXTREME and would ONLY be the amount of time to apply makeup for a photo shoot or a movie, not in real life. Get serious!

No ONE is talking about wearing makeup benefits soul winning - -smoke screen.

What we are talking about is what scripture do you use against makeup. That has been asked of you about 20 times now. You choose to make silly statements instead of answering the question.

Topic is cosmetics.

in the discussion of appearance a lot of thoughts come up.

There is a new industry in Russia called the bride industry. women with better looks including cosmetics get higher rank in marriages. The lower level are called roadside girls. In a carnal world, women still extensively have a social currency called looks. it is enhanced and manipulated for a form of sensual power.

Every one believes in standards. No exceptions. Goth use a lot of black. some standards are huge quantities of piercings. Firemen shave and wear uniforms.

Certain corporate folks in some industries have different hairlengths than others. I know some conservative banks that have never hired a man with even a mustache or ring that is not a wedding ring. A braclet for a man would end an interview quickly.

The use of cosmetics doesn't come from the bible and the requirement for it to be a standard, has to come from somewhere else. From a clinical psychology viewpoint, it is incredibly simple to see what is behind it.

How does that relate to what the bible says about cosmetics?

So what does that have to do with what I posted?

Are you saying or admitting that the standard against cosmetics is not biblivcal?

Again I still don't see how this relates, refutes or addresses what I posted
