If you think that this has never happened just because you'd rather believe the sceptic, critic, and gossip monger...you are in error.
Here's the deal...what does it matter to them anyway...
I'll tell you...these rumors are necessary to discredit the ministries in these churches....it is fear mongering and defamation of character in order to prop up the Apostolic machine...and even put people on their pews...we have several churches in our area that had great revival and church growth ( both numerically and financially) from our transition....
It is nothing more than a prapaganda campaign to enforce the "prophecies of doom" pronounced over us in sermons...they even bring these outlandish rumors to people in our church hoping to have another "great revival and church growth" it would seem...it's funny really the way they go about it especially around Easter when those numbers are reported in the District magazine....:sshhh

Chill out, dude. Breathe. I wasn't addressing your situation at all. I don't know who you are and couldn't care less about how you handled your "transition." I was addressing one particular situation, of which, unfortunately, I am very aware.

It's fine to pm him but I think the board should get a public answer since it was out here publically to start with. imo

I've never known of any pastor that teaches women can trim their hair to throw a hair cutting party.
The notion sounds crazy to me.

I am not going to pm him...he posted on this thread which leads me to believe that he is following it...I have deliberately used his larger font size AND his favorite color...you can't tell me he hasn't seen it.
Steadfast:
Did you get the info from the pastor you posted about or not?

While I'm not Steadfast, it seems to me that his original post on this subject which he linked in, details the fact that this was not hearsay. SF was present and staying in said pastors home when said incident took place. JMHO
BTW sorry to just jump in here but my computor has been down for several days.

I really have no idea what you folks are asking for here. I haven't been on this thread as it lost its appeal to me quite early on. I wouldn't have been on it now if I hadn't been PM's with this link.
Did I get what info from what Pastor? You seem to want some 'public response' of some sort but I'm a little out of touch here as it pertains to this thread. I'm not interested enough to go back and read the rest of this stuff but if you refer to to the hair cutting incident I spoke of, yes, let's just say that we are more than just 'aquaintances'. It happened. It was stupid.
Now, did that 'finish' what I 'started'? What in the world did I 'start'? Hard to 'finish' something if you don't know what you 'started'. For lack of anything better to say I have to admit that your 'over the top' demands here for an 'open forum admission' seems a little... well... emotionally unstable.

Bishoph, this was not the same situation but one which equated, in my opinion, to the amount of stupidity it takes to do such a thing. That is why I posted the link to my opinion of such silly acts. I do, however, appreciate you trying to clarify it for me. Evidently I was being cross examined and didn't even know it... Thanks again.

Here's my take on what could have possibly happened:
The pastor's wife gets a new hairstyle make-over, and at the next service the pastor has her come up to the platform because the congregation is gawking anyways, and it's obvious that everyone is whispering about it!
The rest is probably embellished, depending on one's point of view!
Was this a stupid thing to do? YES!!!

Even SE said, "It was my understanding" they talked with him...but did they? Has anyone really gone straight to the horses mouth? Not on this thread they haven't.
Did the men in SE's report say to SE, "I asked him point plank?" Then why didn't SE say, "They told me straight up that they spoke with him personally and he said it happened and I can absolutley verify this." instead of this loophole language, "It was my UNDERSTANDING..."
Here's the deal...no one, not one person, on this thread has verified the facts that it in fact happened on the same level that I have verified the facts that it did NOT happen...with me, I have been there for all of the services that I have been there (LOL)...and it never happened in my church..for the other 5 that I know of...I ASKED THE PASTORS MYSELF AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY CONFIRMED BY THEM TO ME THAT THEY HAD NO HAIR CUTTING ON THE PLATFORM SERVICE.
And why has Steadfast ignored my requests to verify he got his facts from the pastor in question?
|
Do you want me to lie? I heard this from them I know them so I believe them.
I had no desire the ask a pastor I do not know if this happened?

I suspect that is what T1 was asking about. If so, the situation was so that the man called his wife up on the platform, whacked her hair off and had the Church 'rejoice' over his stupidity.
If you're wanting names... forget it. The situation is such that I have to live associated with them. Frankly, I'm not interested in having war among those I'll be around the rest of my life.
You want more? Forget it. If it means you won't believe me... live with it.
