I'll stick and stand by the words of Winston Churchill - "Never give in, never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty - never give in except to the convictions of honor and good sense."
Some things, IMO, make no sense nor do they appear honorable and so I will never give in!
I think we have a whole lot going on in the Christian community - OF ALL FAITHS - to sincerely be concerned with the above statement that Benincasa made.
I think Miss California, for me right now, is what I am thinking of when I read what he wrote above. There is a lot of confusion going on right now with trying to blend in and be relevant with society, IMO. That is what I am seeing going on around me today.
I agree.
How can a person be seperate from the world and not conformed to the world if they are striving to blend in with the world? Nothing wrong with being IN the world. The problem is when others cannot tell a person is not a PART of the world.

I agree!
I have very deep feelings and thoughts that I would love to express, but I can't form the best words today.

I don't know maybe by renewing the dress code...no wait that wasn't it...hmm be not conformed to this world but be transformed into Amish folk...can't remember it must have had something to do with how I look.

Baron,
It is just not as shallow as that for many (at least with the people that I associate my life with), but there really is no point of even going there. The diversity makes it fruitless. We must all stand before God with our own convictions, beliefs and direction - knowing we will all be accountable some day. Whether right or wrong - we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

Shallow? The Scripture is shallow? Being conformed to the world is a state of mind not a way of dress. The fact is I don't need to look different, I am different. I am different because my worldview takes into account what would please my Father, because the Holy Spirit lives within me. I can't subscribe to "if it feels good do it" because as Hebrew Nationals says I answer to a higher authority.
The reality is Scripture never tells us to look different.
