Puff...while being a musical masterpeice...does not influence me to toke it up...the Steve Miller Band on the other hand...well thats for another thread.
BTW...what do you mean by Good? Good art and bad art, good music and bad music can and does influence people. That is beside the point

I was speaking about with a young man about the KOL, last night. He believes they sold their souls to the devil to become rock stars.
I was a little taken aback, since he knew them on a personal level.
When we spoke further, he explained that they did not have that much musical talent, so for them to show it now, they had to have some help.
I also knew them personally, but never thought about this.
It's one of those statements that I tend to immediately reject, but it has been churning in my mind, since then.

My first reaction to this statement? Sour grapes.
My second reaction? The elder brother in the prodigal parable.
Most likely their improvement is due to hard work, educating themselves, and lots of practice.
I had no idea about the bands history. Ive heard their song use somebody and I really liked it. I would probably reject the statement about them selling there souls . however I did read on the bands bio, the guy didnt remember writting some of thier songs he said he was drinking and popping pills and when he woke up the next day the songs were in his songbook??......thats kinda weird.
