I have been praying that God will remove the scales from the eyes of every person who is currently unable to see that there are some among us that have an agenda that is crushing and cruel. These same people have a desire to build their own kingdom instead of God's.
These are sincere thoughts devoid of any animosity and anger. I am truly, truly concerned.

PP,
It is very possible that God is opening your eyes to His direction for your life, it may be that you should go, as Paul did to the desert. You may not understand that others just can't see what you are seeing. Seek to know God as He really is, let Him continue to show you what He is saying and where He is working around you, that you may join Him in what He is doing. JMHO

If a man is holy he can have a TV and retain his holiness. In the same manner a man that is holy can have the internet and retain his holiness. See, WH it is definitely a control issue. It is called walking in the spirit and not fulfilling the lust of the flesh.

The real problem is that people can't see anything wrong with TV. God help us.

There is plenty wrong with what comes on TV, as there is on the internet and the culture in general. We should trust God and our fellow believers to be so changed by the word and the spirit that they will be convicted and not participate in those things that are wrong. Holiness that is imposed by peer pressure is a false holiness. Paul said that all things are lawful, but not all are expedient. If folks are led by the spirit of God they will avoid the pitfalls, and many will very likely decide against having TV, and even the internet, this is true holiness. Where is the faith that God is able to keep His people in "this present world."

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
Rom 1:29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[c] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
Rom 1:30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[d] unmerciful;
Rom 1:32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
No, those who live holy will not have TV in their lives, period. It is not a control issue, but instead a holiness one. Without holiness, and holiness as commanded in 1Peter 1:15-16, no man shall see the Lord.

Some people equate holiness and standards with things that are crushing and cruel. The fact of the matter is holiness is liberty from the world and the passions there in. Holiness does not bind, but frees us to be what the Lord has called us to be, separated and righteous. Men who love the world more than they love Christ will always see standards as evil and wicked. Men who love Christ more than the world will always see sin as evil and wicked.
The notion that I can be like the world and still be of Christ is what this really boils down to. Can I have the world as my master for hours a day, and still call Christ Lord and be accepted of Him on Sunday? No. This TV is really just the surface of a much deeper issue, holiness in the heart and life. Some have walked away from standards and are using the TV issue as a platform to showcase their walk in this world. But, for the people of Jesus, called by His name, holiness is not a choice, but a commandment, and one we follow gladly.

The love of money is the root of all evil, do you have money? Love not the world neither the things that are in the world, he that loves the world the love of the Father is not in him. Are you in the world? I appreciate your desire to do what is right, but willpower to not do things is not the power of the Holy Spirit. Be filled with the Spirit and your desires will change, this is progressive, as in always being (continuously) filled.

Sometimes I read posts like this and am saddened at what we have become.
