Re: Christmas Plans

Driving 12 hours to be with my spouse's family. I'm not very excited about that or the long drive. The only bright spot is we're stopping at a couple places along the way to visit with long-time friends we rarely see.

Still, I wish we would just stay home.

Re: Christmas Plans

Christmas will be different for me this year.

It will be the first time that I will not be with family ON CHRISTMAS - - - waaaaahhhaaa!

When my kids got married we decided to do the every other year thing just to make it easier for everyone. I had them for Thanksgiving this year so they will be with their in-laws for Christmas.

I was going to my dad's for Christmas, but found out last week they are going to his wife's daughter's in Houston.

I have a few options - just not sure what I will be doing though. Trying to be a big girl about it, but.....................

You can come visit us.... We're spending our very first Christmas alone this year (and actually looking forward to it).

This makes me sad Renda, I feel for you. It is different when you are single and your kids are grown, there are definitely times when you feel like you don't have a spot. I know when my daughter gets married it will become more complicated. But I am sure that you have great friends in the area who will fill in the gap!!

Don't be sad......I'll figure it out -- just a new phase I'm dealing with.

Renda, I am sorry to hear this.
Vancouver is far but you could join us for Christmas!

However being around our kids will probably make you bonkers!

I still remember the pics you posted last year or the year before & how your kids looked like little kids on Christmas Day!

lol.....yes, we all love Christmas time! I love it!

We'll have that time on the 20th!!

I'm looking at it as an opportunity - - just need to decide what direction to go. I know one thing for sure - I won't spend it alone.
