Re: More Employee Layoffs at PPH
I know several people who work there.
This could be a hardship for some families.
It wasn't always the "greatest" place to work. In the 70's there was a definite caste system.

I wouldn't be surprised if the executives didn't even get a raise.

This is not anything new folks. Companies have been outsourcing for years. What makes the UPC exempt?
This is just a business move. Sad that it even hits the church but unfortunitly thats life.

As to the issue of trips and gas cards, I don't claim to know enough about the inner workings, but I do know that there is a tremendous amount of travel that certain "higher ups" must do that most other employees do not.

in these economic times, there are things that CAN be cut back on or eliminated...BEFORE cutting jobs of employees.
They arent cutting the JOB just outsourcing the responsibility to other companies. It isnt right.

there is so much more to it than that...
if being christian was the top requirement for working there, there would be OTHER layoffs...
herein lies the PROBLEM

On another note, how many of those positions were part time or filled by Gateway college students? In any case a job such as a call center is best outscourced.

these are full time, tenured employees.

PPH shouldnt be treated like a BUSINESS.
WEC is NOT a business.
I thought their "business" was the FATHERS business...
and that hasnt been done in a very LONG time.
