Vasaline will help a lot. and put some gloves on your hands at night when you sleep. In the morning you should feel better.you need to keep it up for a few days though and, any time you feel dryness coming on.
I have BADLY chapped and cracked hands. Especially all my knuckles. Anyone have a good remedy?
I don't know if anyone suggested this yet but get some vaseline and rub a lot in. Then, wear vinyl gloves over it overnight. I use vaseline on a regular basis in winter because it WORKS. Lotion has alcohol and can dry your skin.

Putting the oil on your hands is just good for removing the soreness, but I think if you take Vitamin E its also good for your skin. Not certain about that....
My hands tend to crack badly in the wintertime, too (and just about anytime from having my hands in hot water a lot). Most lotions either don't really help, or will sting and burn any cracked areas. My best results have been from:
Arbonne body butter <----best results
Arbonne hand cream
Putting Vitamin E oil on sore spots
Weleda Skin Food, and Weleda Almond Moisture Cream <----my favorite because it has a very light scent, and is good for sensitive skin

Bag Balm is good, but my alltime favorite is Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. Use liberally at night, or when you can keep your hands out of water and wear cotton gloves. I recently had some spots frozen off, and my Dermatologist recommended vaseline. I have used it on my face and hands for about 23 years and there is nothing better for dry skin as far as I can tell.
Do this for several days. And even after the cracks heal continue to use it and you probably won't have another episode.
I can get the measurements, but a lady at work makes this cream and said it's wonderful for dry skin.
Vitamin E, baby oil, and Vaseline.
That sounds like the same one I use but instead of oil, lotion.
