Was almost asleep when my son's watch beeped in the new year. Stayed with him at the hospital last night.

BTW, I have always hated watch night services!

Your hatred of them could never match my hatred! My hate is greater than your hate and my dad can beat up your dad. My bicycle is faster than yours, too! As a kid, they would always be these "Scare the bleep out of you" services that threatened everyone with the rapture. "Brothers and sisters" (in a quivering voice), 1973 would be the last year. This could be your last chance at heaven." I hated that. I had enough problems with nightmares without going to church and finding the inspiration for even more nightmares.

I'm just not into the new years thing anyway. The clock ticks, big deal. Every moment is special, not just the moment when the calendar changes.

Oh dear ones if you had been with me last night you would have been amazed to hear how God brought people from pagan darkenss and gave them light...I enjoyed so much the testimonies...
