111 for a high here today as well. I never pay attention to the heat index although it is the humid time of the year for the Phoenix valley which makes it much worse.

But, it is Summer time. We live in the desert. I would not expect anything different.

US National Weather Service Little Rock Arkansas

This is officially the hottest day in history for Little Rock. The maximum temperature has climbed to 114 degrees so far, breaking the previous record of 112.

You ever been in Arizona in August, 120 degrees, and a monsoon hits? It's like steaming vegetables. Like a Sauna.

I was checking out the University of Tucson back in 98/99 and one hit. It lasted 15-20 mins. After the rain stopped, the water almost instantly evaporated. Hard to breath, clothes were damp, and just plain unpleasant.

My image of Arizona just melted. lol

Been there or through there many times, but never experienced humidity.

Does it not depend where in AZ we are talking about? They have mountains too.

Re: I'm HOT!

Finally! A day below a hundred! We had a small rain shower at daybreak - first one in three weeks.
