There is a promotion I may apply for in the city of Austin. If I apply, there is a real good chance I'd get chosen.

However, for a 1,000 mile plus move, I sure wouldn't mind the benefit of having all four seasons.

Is the "Hill Country" within commuting distance to the city of Austin?
Well, in Texas it is.......

Re: Do the leaves change color in Austin, Tx?

German,

In the Austin area real estate is much more expensive in the "Hill Country" side of town. That is where the $$$ subdivisions are.

Most of us normal folks with regular jobs lived in the parts of Austin that are flat. That was one of the cool things about moving to Middle Tennessee. A lot of where I live know is beautiful hills.

Having said that Austin is a really cool city. Lots of live music, great food, culture, and Lake Travis not far away.

The downside is the tremendous growth Austin has had over the past 30 years. Traffic is horrendous.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
