Do the leaves change color in Austin, Tx?

Can someone post someone pictures of Austin's fall foliage?

Does anyone know if Austin, Tx has much of a fall or winter, as in fall colors and snow-- even if just a little bit of snow?

I've tried to research it myself, but I keep coming up with conflicting answers concerning fall. I'm almost positive that Austin doesn't get snow, but want someone to tell me for sure.

Thanks AFF!

Are you thinking of moving to Austin, Jermyn?

I hear it is a great place to live.

No, the trees don't really change color and it rarely snows. You'd be lucky to see it here.

Not sure about the snow.

Is this around Bandera? It looks like it. It doesn't look like that all over the state, though.

Re: Do the leaves change color in Austin, Tx?

When we moved to Austin, they told us that it rarely snowed (maybe once every 8 years) and our first winter here (2011) it snowed 3-5 inches in February I believe. But this year no snow, however we have had a lot more rain this year than last.

As far as the changing of the trees/colors.....not really noticeable that I can recall. Fall is my wife's favorite time of the year, and she just mentioned the other day how much she missed the fall colors. Leaves fall but we haven't really noticed the fall colors like from the Midwest and east coast where we are from.

Just last week it got down to 35° which is rare here.

This is more how it looks around here in our area. Not a whole lot of color change.

Re: Do the leaves change color in Austin, Tx?

German, I lived in Austin for many years and still visit there at least once a year. The seasons are not as distinct in Austin as they are in many places.

There are some cold winter days but a lot of warm ones. Spring, Summer, and Fall are all hot with Summer just being hotter than the others. For example this past April 15th the temp was 81 degrees and last month October 15th was 88 degrees. Not enough of a temp change for leaves to change even if those type trees were in great supply and they are not.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Yeah, changing colors are few and far between, I think those are closer to the Hill Country.
