So what does music that glorifies God look and sound like to you? Pick a video that best describes it.

Re: Does all christian music glorify God?

Can we or should we judge a song by how SCRIPTURAL it is?

If yes you will love this ALL scripture. When I used to hear it, it sounded so beautiful. One day in my Contemporary Issues class back in 1971 the teacher asked this question. Who wrote it?

Everyone guessed wrong. He answered its in the Bible!

Thanks for sharing MTD. I enjoyed that! But I think you agree the theology is a little off. Still a good old time song though.

yup. "I'll fly away" ditto. What yack. The "Someday everything will be fabulous" songs as well. These all take what may have started as a Scriptural principle, and distort them into an extreme doctrine; usually one that removes a listener from 'the now,' where their responsibility is. Gag.

For that matter, "Shall we gather at the river?"
How 'bout you get up off that couch, and go gather where some actual living Christians are accomplishing something other than accusing other people of their sin. Already. "Christian" music is mostly just infected. I've yet to here anyone more spiritual and Scriptural as David Byrne.

Re: Does all christian music glorify God?

Apparently "I'll Fly Away" was taken from a secular song referred to as "The Prisoners Song" thus the prisoner analogy. Same music and some of the same words. That would probably surprise old-time music purists.
