Beholding in a glass darkly do we understand the obscurity of that which we intently desire to see. Yet our focus must not languish of perfect perception nor must it be daunted by the fog and mist of doubt.
As you continue to behold in the glass darkly, when that which is perfect is come, the fog will disipate when charity is matured to reveal that which you behold in the glass, yes, that image which you have sought to behold for so long. Now with heavenly joy sublime in your soul, the image in the mirror is revealed, as the fog of obscurity is rolled away. It is Christ. Lo, it is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

You certainly have a way with words.
It feels like anguish of the soul to want so much to know Him perfectly but only to see Him as through a haze.

Indeed...
I recall the words of Paul, "...that I may know him...," being the cry of his blessed, sainted soul as well.
I have felt the same anguish of soul as I have wept and yearned to truly KNOW him. This anguis of soul has continued as a burden driving me to seek him in a greater and more meaningful way.
Then like a cool breeze or a fresh drink of water while in such anguish of the soul, the Lord spoke to my heart, "Never once did I say in my Word, 'depart from me... YOU NEVER KNEW ME." Understanding came to be in a flash.
It is not so much whether I know HIM or not, though that element is indispensable. It is MORE of a question, DOES HE KNOW ME? Perish the the though that He would say to anyone of us, "Depart from me..., I never KNEW YOU."

That I may know Him
I marvel that when Paul said "That I may know Him," he had already been caught up to heaven and had a personal encounter on the road to Damascus that we would all envy. Yet, He didn't feel that he knew Him. What a mighty God? Who indeed can know Him? But hopefully we know Him better today than we did yesteday and better yet tomorrow. And Oh, at the throne. What a time of revealing that will be. When the former things have vanished, our God will wipe away all our tears and I'm sure He will straighten out our limited understanding.
That might take place a bit sooner than we think.

That's what happens when you read at 13,000 words a minute....you don't have time to process what was read. Slow down, Elder....remember to obey the speed limit posted.

I can read a 300 page book easily in a day if it is interesting.

J-Roc, he understands it just fine. He knows the truth perfectly well. The problem lies with those who twist scripture to allow ungodliness and abominations to be accepted, despite the clear rendering of scripture.

That I may Know Him ... in his power of resurrection and in the fellowship of his suffering ... JUST TO KNOW HIM ... Yadah.

If your pastor holds this doctrine, then he has went the wrong way.

Most of Pentecost's greats held this view ... and were welcome among your fellowship and held leadership positions ... it''s foolish to not even recognize a differing view.

It is foolish to recognize anything but the Truth. Repentance, baptism in Jesus name FOR the remission of sins and the infilling of the Holy Ghost speaking with tongues. NO OTHER WAY TO BE SAVED.
