You know, there is a judgment seat of Christ where all of this will be shushed out. Some will go in confidence and faith, some will go indifferently, some will go in abject terror, and some will go deceived thinking everything will be okay, only to find out differently.
But the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will have His say and so, have His way.
We all go alone and will face Him as He is, i.e. not a respecter of persons who is going to be favorable to a person just because of love, in complete neglect to justice. The best thing to do is to live a life according to the Scriptures that, when we eventually meet Him, we can be assured of hearing "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
If we are not at least trying to live like that (and such a life is informed by what we believe), then when you meet Jesus and don't hear Him say "Well done..." you only have yourself to blame.
A good song summarizes it well:
The valley of decision
Begins to overflow
With some confused, bewildered
And some who seem to know
That this sad separation
Was their choice so they can tell
He simply speaks the sentence
That they have passed upon themselves

It's you choice. But you and me, and everyone will have to live with the consequences, whatever it is you decide.
