Also, I notice that for you a man with an unkempt beard is lazy, but a man with a well-groomed beard is proud or vain?
Meanwhile, sisters are spending more time in the bathroom doing their hair than in the closet praying?
Please, let's just be modest and take care of ourselves, and quit judging people for things the Bible never says.

And you are right about sisters spending so much time on their hair. All the misunderstood preaching about the hair being given to women as her "glory" seems to make women feel justified in doing up their hair in extravagant styles.
Just saying that, in all things, we need to be watchful of what we're doing and why we're doing them.

What is interesting is that there is Scripture admonishing women not to engage in such extravagant styling of the hair:
1 Peter 3:3-4 King James Version (KJV)
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. Plaiting of the hair was an extravagant form of hair styling in Paul's day.

Not your brother or sister because of a varience in standard you dont agree with?
You wont have that luxury anymore when the line is drawn in the sand and the real advarsary is revealed.
When that happens, there will be an ever greater appreciation for those called by His name.
I may sound harsh but there are things God showed me about 9 years ago....when I came back to Him it all came flooding back and then two weeks ago I nearly broke down sobbing when God spoke to me and showed me a vision of a church building being dismantled by God and the occupants being driven out into the harvest forcefully.
God said, "I WILL have a church even if I have to drive my children before Me."
Take it as you will...call me crazy...ask me what steps IM taking as a way of deflecting...I dont care...I just feel something coming...I feel a urgency and a seriousness...a need to truly prioritize.

You're not alone in feeling this.

Re: More On Beards
This unfortunate error of beards being counted as a sin should end. And let it end with a humble and heartfelt apology from the Apostolic ministers who have promoted it. Then they should be forgiven.

"Most." Not "everyone." And this is based on personal observation of friends of mine and co-workers. Yes, I have friends who spend a long time trimming, oiling, primping their beards and moustaches to get them to look just so. They take photos of their work and are not bashful about admitting they are PROUD of their beard/moustache.

Speaking of horribly constructed arguments . . .
No. One doesn't brush his teeth out of vanity and pride. One does so to keep from getting gingivitis, tooth loss, diabetes and other diseases which have been linked to not brushing your teeth.

It's not a broad brush, Shag. I was on staff of a church for 8 years where the majority of men wore beards. I have many close friends who grow beards. "Most" of them (church members and close friends) are not afraid to admit their pride and vanity in growing and caring for their beard.
How is posting my experience "prideful?"

I believe you're misunderstanding the verse here. This isn't a prohibition against something. It's not forbidding anything. It's simply saying to make your beauty be what's inside, not what you wear.
