Re: Lasik Eye Surgery

My friend had it done. Before the surgery he could not read a large print calendar from 3" away from his face. Seriously! After, he could stand across the room and read it clearly. It's been several years since his surgery and he's still doing very well with it.

He recommends it to everyone.

On the other subject, I can't recommend the vasectomy, never have had it done. But if anyone ever mentions hysterectomy to you, BEG for it. Plead for it. GET IT at all costs!!!! Best thing that could happen to a woman.

Ooops, sorry, I forgot. You are STEPHEN Hoover. hehehe. Well, you tell that sweet little wife of yours what I had to say. That'll save you the trouble.

I had it done about 4 years ago and I love it... I had worn glasses or contacts since 2nd grade... Bad astigmatism as well and it corrected it all...

No pain at all during the procedure just some pressure.... The first eye was weird, but when they got on the 2nd eye I knew what to expect and it was no big deal...

it will not correct age in that you will still need reading glasses later on in life

I've got a friend that had it done last year, he is VERY happy with the results. Before he had to wear bottle cap glasses, but now can see better without glasses than he ever could with. However, and son of a friend of my dad's could see no benefit.

I'm considering getting it done myself because I've never grown to like my glasses. (after 15 years if I haven't learned to like them, chances are I never will) But I will be waiting until I have some time that I can take off, I drive a truck for a living so I think it'd be better if I had it done during vacation time.

I agree. God has given me the gift of procreation, (and I've found out that I'm quite fertile) and going through a procedure to prevent me from using my gift just doesn't set well with me.

She went first. 15 minutes she came out and said "..it wasn't that bad...", then i was next. And it really WASN'T that bad! In fact, given a choice I'd rather do this again then get a cavity filled. The eye drops (4 times a day) for 10 days AND having to wear goggles to bed to keep from rubbing our eyes, was a bit of a pain but the procedure was easy. And our near perfect vision since is priceless!
I would like to know how much it is running now to have it done? My insurance will pay for part of it... but it was still more than I was willing to pay a few years ago. (4K for one) I assume it might be cheaper now?

I have a stubborn teen that will not wear her contacts or glasses.. She keeps telling me that she is waiting for me to pay for the surgery for her. I have told her that I'm getting it done first... she better get a job. I guess she won't get to drive since she is too stubborn to wear the contacts/glasses. She is stubborn, but where did she get it from? lol, she has absolutely no clue how stubborn I am.

But, if I could get it done for both of us at 2K... that would be a deal.

Re: Lasik Eye Surgery

We went to a place in Milwaukee that was/is charging 500 an eye for their annual Summer special. This particular doctor has done many tens of thousands of the procedures.
