Then we would be celebrating the pagan New Year. Just can't win, so why not make it about giving gifts like the Wise Men did?

Re: Christmas Plans
I do give gifts and I realize Jesus was not born on DEC.25 and I do know about the origins of Christmas.

New Year's is pagan?
I'm serious..I've never looked at the origins of New Year's eve..but I know I never came across it in my studies either, nor did I observe it as a witch. My new year was Samhain. (and yes, this really does mean that my entire year cycle was out of sync..and it's still messed up...lol)

I was going to my dad's for Christmas, but found out last week they are going to his wife's daughter's in Houston.
I have a few options - just not sure what I will be doing though. Trying to be a big girl about it, but.....................

Renda, I am sorry to hear this.
Vancouver is far but you could join us for Christmas!
However being around our kids will probably make you bonkers!
I still remember the pics you posted last year or the year before & how your kids looked like little kids on Christmas Day!

lol.....yes, we all love Christmas time! I love it!
We'll have that time on the 20th!!
I'm looking at it as an opportunity - - just need to decide what direction to go. I know one thing for sure - I won't spend it alone.

No, I don't celebrate Christmas now.
I celebrated Yule, and the Americanized Christmas when I was a witch.
Samhain is Halloween. And I don't celebrate that anymore either.

Re: Christmas Plans
Plan to go to Shreveport as my brother will be home for Christmas this year and his birthday on New Years day. Usually, he has to work.
Dropped my digital camera and broke it so I am thinking I know what my Christmas present will be this year.
