Since I'm being hated on so much for liking Adam Lambert when he was on AI, to the point I've been accused having no spiritual discernment and the spirituality of people in the church I pastor has been questioned, I thought I'd post my favorite AI performances.

While I was never on the Daughtry bandwagon, he sure has handled his career the right way and he's been smart about his music, which is more than can be said for several that, in my opinion, are much better singers. When Elliot Yamin was on, he was my all-time favorite to that point. But he's gone nowhere since. Daughtery, on the other hand, is huge.
Lyrics to Imagine.... dont know why anyone who loves Jesus likes this song...
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Come on, Ferd. He only sang the third verse. And actually, if you try to understand what John Lennon was saying and where he was coming from, it makes sense. He was very angry with religion, which was fighting each other over small issues while the real needs of the world weren't being met.

I think I will stick with reading the words and understanding exactly what Lennon meant.
I seriously doubt anyone on AI has a clue. These arent the sharpest knives in the jar....
that is no excuse for you. you should know better.
and it doesent make any sense at all. John Lennon was a godless communist. you are identifying with that.

John Lennon may have been an outsider, and sometimes the outsider see's the duck for what it is!
That is absolutely the truth and that's why I think we should take very seriously what he said. These guys had and still have major influence over a major part of the culture we claim to be trying to reach. If we can't understand them, we don't have a chance.

And I believe that if we, as the church, don't try to understand why people such as Lennon turned their heart so hard against religion, that we're making a mistake. I don't agree with or justify his lifestyle. But if I can understand why he was where he was, I just might be able to prevent more like him, and as well, reach those that are in his "neck of the woods." And our church has been instrumental in the salvation of many that were formerly "anti-God", "anti-religion", "Christian-haters."
When I read the words of Lennon, my heart breaks for him and others that are in his shoes. I feel like many areas of religion failed him and I think we all have to look in the mirror and see where "we", as the ecumenical church, went wrong. "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."
